About Us

The Guelph Giants Special Hockey Foundation is dedicated to encourage, empower and enable athletes with an intellectual disability to participate in an inclusive hockey program.
Guelph Giants Special Needs Hockey Club is a non-profit club composed of intellectually challenged athletes. The Club was inaugurated in year 2006 and is entering our 10th season. Guelph players are given the opportunity to play and be a part of a hockey team regardless of gender.

The experience gives the players a change to form close and important friendship with their peers and permits them to develop sportsmanship that would not have otherwise been possible. Skating improve gross motor development in a fun way. The players are able to develop at their own rate with the help of a very dedicated group of volunteer coaches that emphasize fun while learning.

The principles of the programs are to:
  1. have FUN
  2. provide an acessible and inclusive jockey experience
  3. develop individual and team hockey skills
